John Sharkey, Vice President

John Sharkey is a management consultant with a primary focus in Supply Chain and Operations consulting. He leads the firm’s Management Consulting practice, which focuses on helping clients develop robust supply chain strategies and implement best-in-class processes and technologies to transform their supply chain performance. An expert in the design, development, implementation, and optimization of supply chain planning business processes and technologies, Mr. Sharkey has worked with companies in the High-Tech, Semiconductor, Consumer Products, Medical Products, Automotive, Telecommunications, Paper, and Industrial Products industries. Having led project teams in a variety of domestic and global supply chain initiatives, he specializes in combining technology and process improvements to design supply chain systems that enable clients to achieve their corporate strategy objectives.

Mr. Sharkey received his undergraduate degree in industrial engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and also has a master’s degree in engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from MIT's Sloan School of Management. At MIT he was a graduate fellow in the Leaders for Manufacturing (now Leaders for Global Operations) program, a partnership between MIT’s business and engineering schools and a consortium of leading global manufacturers. Prior to joining Spinnaker he worked as a consultant in the lean manufacturing practice at Ernst & Young and the supply chain technology practice at Orion Consulting.

As the leader of Spinnaker’s Management Consulting practice, he is responsible for business development, consulting project delivery, and organizational development. His primary concerns are ensuring that Spinnaker’s consulting services continue to delight clients and help them achieve outstanding supply chain performance and continuing to grow Spinnaker’s consulting capabilities by attracting the best supply chain consultants in the business.
