John Sharkey, Principal and VP of Supply Chain Consulting (West)

John Sharkey, a management consultant with a primary focus in Supply Chain and Operations Management consulting, is Spinnaker’s Vice President of Supply Chain Consulting (West). Prior to joining Spinnaker he worked as a consultant in the lean manufacturing practice at Ernst & Young and the supply chain technology practice at Orion Consulting. An expert in the design, development and implementation of supply chain planning solutions, Mr. Sharkey has worked with companies in the High-Tech, Semiconductor, Consumer Packaged Goods, Medical Products, Automotive, Telecommunications, Paper, and Industrial Products industries. Having led project teams in a variety of domestic and global supply chain initiatives, he specializes in combining technology and process improvements to design supply chain systems that enable clients to achieve their corporate strategy objectives.

Mr. Sharkey received his undergraduate degree in industrial engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he graduated with high honors. He also has a master’s degree in engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from MIT's Sloan School of Management. At MIT he was a graduate fellow in the Leaders for Manufacturing program, a partnership between MIT’s business and engineering schools and a consortium of leading global manufacturers.

As Spinnaker’s Vice President of Supply Chain Consulting (West), Mr. Sharkey co-leads the line of business. In this role he is responsible for business development, consulting delivery, and organizational development. His primary concerns are ensuring that Spinnaker’s consulting services continue to delight clients and help them achieve their business objectives and continuing to grow Spinnaker’s consulting capabilities by attracting the best supply chain consultants in the business.
